Digizen Work

What I learned about Copyright:

Copyright can be defined as a legal right that grants the owner/ attributor of an original work, exclusive rights to the use and distribution of that work. I found out that copyright is an extremely important factor when trying to protect anything that you produced or call your own. The most interesting fact I found out about this Copyright Act was that "the works of others should not be used without their permission unless the use is permitted by the Copyright Act. I also found out that this Copyright Act is permitted from grades K-12, meaning that this Act applies to Kindergarteners as well.

What would be most important to teach my students about copyright?

I think the most important facts to teach my students about the Copyright Acts are the specific limitations this Act has on reproducing someone else's work. I feel like an overview/ brief quiz of what constitutes plagiarism and what does not, and how it is related to the Copyright Act will need to be addressed.
